ACCOMMODATION IN antarctica
Participants will be accommodated in spacious, heated communal tents at the camp, equipped with elevated benches or loungers and sleeping bags. Meals and beverages will be available in a separate kitchen tent. Throughout the race, aid stations along the course will offer water, electrolyte drinks, and snacks to all competitors.
Dining
The camp has a full kitchen with a dining area, which serves as a gathering place for meals, activities, and conversation. Competitors will enjoy hearty, freshly cooked meals, with self-serve snacks and beverages also available. The logistics company also regularly flies in fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and a variety of drinks from Cape Town.
Transportation
Two specially adapted 4x4 passenger vans are used for excursions around Union Glacier and to shuttle guests to and from the runway. There is also a fleet of specialized vehicles for snow clearing, runway maintenance and ground transportation in Antarctica. These include an industrial snow-blower, several tractors, snowcat, skiway groomer and a number of snowmobiles and sleds. A team of mechanics operate and maintain these machines.
Power and Charging
Systems are solar-powered to minimize environmental impact and there are limited solar/charging facilities to guests.
